Breviscapin is a natural flavonoid compound extracted from the Asteraceae plant Erigeron breviscapus (commonly known as "breviscapus"). Its main components are scutellarin and a small amount of scutellarin, with a molecular formula of \(\text{C}_{21}\text{H}_{18}\text{O}_{12}\). It appears as a yellow or brown powder, is insoluble in water, and is soluble in alkaline aqueous solutions or organic solvents. Breviscapin is the main active ingredient of the traditional Chinese medicine Erigeron breviscapus, which has a long history of application in the field of traditional Chinese medicine. Modern research has confirmed that it has significant pharmacological activity and is widely used in the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

Application

Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Treatment: Antithrombotic and improves microcirculation, used for ischemic stroke, coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, etc.; protects nerve cells and aids in the rehabilitation of stroke sequelae; dilates blood vessels and increases blood flow to improve myocardial ischemia and cerebral hypoperfusion.
